♥Friday...the birthday girl, the beer, the last remaining pair of Rocky Mountain jeans on the planet, the dancing and the band...Spice Girls meet Neil Young...but a drummer who could bust a rap like no other!!!
♥Saturday...the bbq, the country house, the food, the lemondrops with good vodka, the barn, the dancing in the barn, the new friends, mistaken identity, Hell's Angels, reminiscing, the music and the skinnydipping!
♥Sunday...working, working, working...but things coming together so beautifully that these sore muscles and bone tiredness is worth it completely.

When life hands you lemons...
and you are a parent of teenagers, they will be sure to request that you hand squeeze lemonade regardless of the papercuts all over your fingers.
You may say you do it anyway because you love them, but be sure they are laughing at you in their teenager brains all the while...and they don't even really want lemonade.
~Wisdom by me. I was one, I know.

♥Iced tea with frozen wedges of grapefruit, blood orange, lime and lemon instead of coffee this morning.
♥Clues...51 across: 4 letter word for online diary. Seriously!!!
♥A three hour road trio that started out with irritation but was defused by a 17 year old's mix CD and love...lots and lots of love.

Connections, comrades and comfortable
from yesterday...
♥appointments...with people...cool, neat, fun, jazzy people...for body, beauty and housekeeping.
♥8 teenagers on the trampoline in my backyard...best forty bucks I've spent in a LONG time.
♥"hey mom, wanna come watch the dyke episode of South Park with me?" and the dreamboat on the other end of the phone line saying "Priorities, go, peace out."

Love & Compassion: Cheaper than Botox
♥My inbox contained this message from The Universe: See everyone, Tara, as a brand new challenge to fall in love. Sneaky of me, huh? Kiss, kiss - The Universe
♥I chose to not confront a lovely who is struggling and could do without my needs heaped on her in addition to all the trials she is going through...and found that compassion makes me feel lovely and beauty~full.
♥Then my daughter brought me this that I had hand written for her when she was going through an especially tough time:
"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real." "Does it hurt?" asked the rabbit. "Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt." "Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?" "It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand." ~Margery Williams, from The Velveteen Rabbit
and I don't think there is any question that the beauty in today was based on a common theme.
I'm glad to be reminded.
I'm gladder to be real.
